Is really hard. I think the trick is to give them plenty while giving yourself a child size portion. Not what a child would expect in my household but what is considered a child portion.
My children, sorry make that the girls, are growing fast and eating to fuel those growth spurts. My son has to have a growth spurt yet. At 10 years old he fits clothes size 5 going on 6. He is very economical to buy for. School uniforms last up to 3 years sometimes longer. He has been wearing the same PE top since reception class 5 years ago.
I cook every day healthy meals while respecting my son dietary needs. I bake, I make desserts most night. He needs the extra calories. I don’t.
But how long can I resist chocolate semolina or chocolate rice pudding or homemade chocolate dessert. Can you see a pattern yet?
I am a chocoholic and so are my children. But while I am short and fat, thanks to a genetic twist my girls are tall and slim and my boy is small and extremely skinny.
My goal is to reduce my food intake while keeping the wild beasts disguised as my children content with plenty of food. They will eat me out of house and home, but will not eat what is on my plate. :)
