Deep breath…. Much better.
I am now back at work having survived half term. My poor husband decided that it was a good idea to come with us to visit his parents for 2 days (and 2 nights). The children were thrilled to see their grandparents, less thrilled to have to sleep there.
We packed the car: warmest clothes, additional fleeces, sleeper socks, hand warmer. My in laws house is cold, so cold in fact that you put a fleece or jacket as you go in and take it off as you go out. Anywhere else up North you would do the opposite. The children are getting a skewed vision of the world.
The children were looking forward spending time with grandma and grandpa and ended up being glued to my side. They love me so much. Lol
Grandma is losing it, big style. From the minute we arrived till the minute we left she was shouting at Grandpa. I don’t think she realised what she was doing. Her behaviour did upset the children and my long suffering husband. Unfortunately we were glad to go.
And she was really upset that she came up as 1%related on the dsi. It is only a game. Not scientific proof.
Frostbite, overfeeding and being shouted at are not a recipe for welcoming people. So we are going again in July. Should I worry?
The rest of the break was very nice. Long suffering husband decided to spend as much time on the allotment as he could. Child 3 and I went swimming a lot. We even managed to drag child 1 and 2 for one swim. They loved it. We now have a new swimming pool near us and it is free for children so even better.

On Monday child 1 and 2 had to go back to school. Child 3 had a training day. So we decided to make the most of it and went swimming first thing. It was lovely. Then we took a fancy to driving to Pateley Bridge to see the glassmakers. They are my favourite glassmakers. I buy at least a piece a year. I am trying to increase my drinking glass collection. Child 3 likes glass as well and used his own pocket money to buy a piece. He was very happy with his purchase.

Then back home for a bicycle ride. Yes. At last child 3 can ride a bicycle. He does need to practice but can ride.
I was glad to go back to work today to rest. Child 1, 2 and 3 are safely at school. Poor suffering husband is back at work.
