Well there we were in Kingston hospital with the Sonographer when my husband and I heard the big news…’it’s not one but two babies’. The news slowly sunk in and from that moment on I began to notice double buggies and larger than normal pregnant bellies.

As a physiotherapist, I had an acute awareness of the changes in my body. Unfortunately, I was unlucky enough to have terrible morning, or rather all day and evening, sickness throughout my pregnancy that made....

I had 1 son, Kai.  We always wanted a family of 3 and the time was right to add number 2 to our family..   I was spotting and had an early scan identifying that I was carrying Twins!  We spent the rest of the day with huge grins on our faces, saying 2....TWO!!!!!

Needless to say, I had no idea what the pregnancy would bring!  My son was born naturally at 10lbs 4 so i knew I was unlikely to have tiny twins!   I spent the whole pregnancy feeling hideous....

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)

What is SPD ?

Pain in the groin and pubic area, whatever the cause, is usually related to the pelvis not functioning like it should, and is referred to as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD). The problem is not necessarily with the symphysis pubis itself, it can often be either or both of the sacro-iliac joints putting undue strain upon it.
